The answer to the mystery of the princes in the tower may be contained in an urn in Westminster Abbey.
In 1674, a chest containing a pair of skeletons were unearthed beneath the foundation of a staircase in the Tower of London. Many think these remains are proof the young princes were murdered, but forensic analysis of the bones in the 1930s was inconclusive. Modern DNA technology could likely offer more conclusive evidence, but the royal family has, to date, not allowed additional testing. The recent coronation of King Charles III may reignite calls to test the bones.
