Darker the Night, Brighter the Stars
BY JOHN CARIANI
FEBRUARY 15
THE COLONIAL THEATRE, LACONIA
Sat @ 2pm
$10 includes reading and discussion with the author
It’s a dark late-summer night in a small town in far Northern Maine, and some young people are negotiating the darkness, both within themselves and in the rural landscape that surrounds them. In a series of poignant, funny, inspiring, and interconnected short plays, they confront challenges, fears, and each other and find that even when it’s as dark as it gets in Northern Maine, there is still light. Because the stars shine brightest when it’s dark.
Join playwright and Tony nominee John Cariani for a staged reading of his latest play which makes its world premiere this spring at Portland Stage. Produced in collaboration with PSU’s theatre program, the reading will be followed by a discussion of the play with Cariani himself for your chance to give feedback and ask him questions about the play and his exciting career!
